The aim of the educational campaign called “Seniors – let’s meet online”, which is carried out in Poland, is to raise awareness of senior citizens’ safety on the Internet and promote among the younger generation the attitude of supporting their parents and grandparents in navigating the digital world.
Instructional videos/tutorials with the campaign’s ambassador, a well-known Polish actress who is 65+, provide an accessible introduction to the subject matter, while brochures elaborate and discuss the issues in detail.
Seniors will be able to learn how to more safely enjoy entertainment and communication via the Internet, and how to do various errands quickly and conveniently online. The educational materials introduce also them to the world of data protection and provide them with information on the methods of online scammers, which they need to be particularly wary of.
The videos and brochures are aimed at both seniors who are comfortable with the Internet and those who are less proficient.
The campaign pays special attention to the important role played by relatives of the elderly in their exploration of the virtual world.
